    III. Scholarship Coverage and Standards

    Tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, living stipend (bachelor: 2,500 RMB/month; master: 3,000 RMB/month), and comprehensive medical insurance.

    IV. Application Requirements

    1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health, with no criminal record, strong academic performance, and a friendly attitude toward China.

    2. Bachelor’s applicants: high school diploma and be under age 25.

    Master’s applicants: bachelor’s degree and be under age 35.

    3. Applicants must not hold any other scholarships.

    4. Language proficiency:

    For Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 5 with a score of 210 or above.

    For English-taught programs: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 80, or Duolingo 105. Exemptions may be granted for applicants from English-speaking countries (subject to Nankai University’s approval). Applicants whose previous degree was completed entirely in English may submit an official English-Medium Instruction letter in lieu of test scores.

    5. Bachelor’s applicants must take the CSCA Test (China Scholastic Competency Assessment).

    V. Application Process

    1. Within the specified period, submit your application via Nankai University’s Online Service Platform for International Students: https://nankai.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx

    2. Nankai University will review applications and conduct interviews. Interview notifications will be sent through the system email; applicants are advised to monitor their application account closely.

    3. Successful applicants will be nominated by Nankai University and issued pre-admission letters.

    4. Nominees must then log in to the CSC application portal at https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn, select “Program Type B”, complete the online application, and designate Nankai University (Agency No. 10055) as the host institution.

    5. Nankai University will forward pre-admission documents to the China Scholarship Council (CSC), which will make the final admission decisions and notify the university. (Timeline subject to CSC notification.)

    6. Nankai University will announce the final admission results and issue the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form to admitted students.

    7. Registration date: Early September 2026.

    VI. Application Documents

    1. Copy of passport information page (valid until at least September 1, 2027). Applicants currently in Chinese mainland must also provide a copy of their valid visa or residence permit.

    2. High school/bachelor’s degree certificate. Graduating students must submit a pre-graduation certificate. Non-Chinese/English documents must include notarized Chinese or English translations.

    3. Complete academic transcripts. Non-Chinese/English documents must include notarized Chinese or English translations.

    4. Bachelor’s applicants: scanned copy of CSCA Test score report.

    5. Personal statement (minimum 800 words for master’s applicants), including study and research plan in China, financial background, reasons for applying, awards, and personal strengths.

    6. Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 5 with a score of 210 or above. Graduates of independent Chinese secondary schools in Malaysia are exempt upon submission of their graduation certificate.

    7. Master’s applicants: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 80, or Duolingo 105. Exemptions may be granted for applicants from English-speaking countries (subject to Nankai University’s approval). Applicants with a previous degree fully taught in English may submit an official English-medium instruction letter in lieu of test scores.

    8. Recommendation letters: one for bachelor’s applicants; two from associate or full professors for master’s applicants. Letters must be in Chinese or English.

    9. Foreigner Physical Examination Form, completed in Chinese or English as required. Reports dated after October 2025 are valid.

    10. Financial guarantee certificate.

    11. Certificate of no criminal record.

    VII. Note

    1. All documents must be in Chinese or English. Non-Chinese/English certificates or supporting documents must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations.

    2. Incomplete or non-compliant submissions will not be processed.

    3. Please use a scanner to upload color scans in PDF format. Photos taken by mobile phones or cameras, as well as photocopies, are not accepted.

    4. During the review process, Nankai University may request additional documents as needed. Please ensure that all information provided is true and valid, and be sure to fill in your own email address and telephone number. Uploaded documents must be complete and correct.
