I. Scholarship Coverage

II. Application Requirements
1. Applicants must complete the online application via the Nankai University International Student Online Service System at:
https://nankai.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx.
For specific requirements, please refer to the 2026 Master Programs of Nankai University for International Students.
2. Applicants must also complete the online application and download the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship via the CSC Online Application System for Study in China at:
https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login.
The agency number for Nankai University is 10055.
Please select Program Category Type B in the system.
3. Recipients of the Chinese Government Scholarship are not permitted to hold any other scholarship funded by the Chinese government or Nankai University concurrently. If such a case is found, the scholarship status will be revoked, and any scholarship funds received must be returned.
4. Application period: 20th,October, 2025---20th March, 2026.
*Scholarship quotas are limited. Please submit your application to Nankai University as early as possible to allow sufficient time for the review process.
III. Application Documents
a. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English);
b. Copy of Passport Home Page. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before September 2026), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application;
c. Notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;
d. Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). Copies of academic records from first to last semester during the undergraduate, graduate (if any), and doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English;
e. Language qualification certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK reports in accordance with the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants for other language-taught programs shall provide relevant language proficiency certificates according to the universities’ requirements, like IELTS or TOEFL report;
f. Pre-admission Documents;
g. A study plan proposal. A study plan written in Chinese or English shall contain more than 1,000 characters or words; the proposal of a doctoral student shall be signed by the applicant's Chinese supervisor;
h. Recommendation letters. Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities both in China and abroad;
i. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months;
j. Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
*All uploaded documents must be clear, authentic, and valid. Applicants are recommended to use professional scanning equipment. Consequences arising from unclear or unidentifiable materials shall be borne by the applicant.
IV. Fee
Application Fee: 600RMB (Payable after admission. Waived for Chinese Government Scholarship recipients).
V. Scholarship Review
1. Applicants who pass the initial document review will be required to attend an online interview organized by the relevant academic school or college.
2. After admission, the university will conduct the review of the applicant's information and documents. If fraud, plagiarism, or other irregularities are identified, the admission and scholarship offers will be revoked.
3. The final award of the scholarship is subject to the approval of the China Scholarship Council (CSC).
VI. Important Notes
1. Scholarship recipients must abide by the relevant regulations of the Chinese Government Scholarship upon their arrival in China.
2. Scholarship recipients are not permitted to change their host university, field of study, or duration of study after registration.
3. The School of International Education, Nankai University, holds the final right to interpret this application procedure.
