Recently, the second list of universities and disciplines included in the "Double First-class Project" was released by the Ministries of Education, the Ministry of  Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission. 6 disciplines of Nankai University, i.e., applied economics, world history, mathematics, chemistry, statistics and materials science and engineering have been included, among which the applied economics is newly selected for this round.

Nankai University was selected as one of the 42 first-class universities in the first round and also one of the 36 A-level universities. During the first round of construction, Nankai University has made remarkable achievements and five disciplines including world history, mathematics, chemistry, statistics, and materials science and engineering have taken the lead and gradually promote the optimization of the discipline structure at Nankai University.

A total of 147 universities have been included in the new "Double First-class Project" list. Among them, there are 59 basic disciplines, 180 engineering disciplines and 92 philosophy and social science disciplines.
